Maisach Barn Conversion
On the banks of an attractive, small river, and with views across meadow and farmland, this building in the south of Germany was originally built for agricultural use.
These are preliminary proposals to convert it to residential use. The existing internal divisions are largely removed, and a new opening made in the wall which faces the river. This, along with an external deck, wraps around the corner to take advantage of the views to the opposite side, as well as along the length of, the river. Some of the existing timber roof structure is retained, as are the large openings along one side, which are adapted to accommodate the entrance and some screens which let in some light whilst retaining privacy from the neighbours.
