Planning permission obtained in March 2019.
Due to start on site in Autumn 2019.
Most domestic extensions are concerned with improving and opening up the main living spaces – but this one is a little different, as its purpose is to contain two very compact functional spaces. It does not even touch the ground – it is attached to the side of the existing house and provides a utility area at one level and an ensuite shower room at the other.
The design process involved careful consideration of the internal layout to make sure the available space is used as efficiently as possible. Detailed 3d models were an important part of examining the options.
The new extension hangs on the side of a substantial brick-built Victorian property in Crofton Park, South London, and will be clad entirely in lead.
